Dog leads to child abuser suspect

With 22 weeks of dog training, UK sniffer lead to a USB device, of which contained inappropriate images of child abuse. When the UK dog executed and clawed at the suspect’s belongings, police officials furthered their search and were astonished to what they found, a metal cabinet. Opening the device, there they found the memory stick that confused officials and officers.

Detectives plugged the USB into the PC and pursued the arrest of a child abuser suspect. Astounded, officers knew the UK sniffer was enduring training to uncover “drugs, cash, firearms, explosives, and are used for conflict management and tracking criminals who have legged it, or missing and vulnerable people," (BBC News, 2014)  but detecting displeasing photos was completely out of the qualifications for dogs working with officers. “Ms. Gwynne said she had no doubt dogs could be trained to locate hard drives and/or memory sticks, in the same way firearms dogs were trained to find metallic objects but the idea "that it could make a distinction as to what it has found, seems unrealistic". (BBC News, 2014)

With the proper training and evaluation, service dogs have made an outbreak to beneficial leads and captures of criminals across the nation.
